Once you finally have made the smart decision of buying an external hard drive or a solid state hard drive now it’s time to put the files on your drive. This is not a very hard task; in fact it’s actually quite easy to do. First you need to connect the hard drive to an USB port on your computer or laptop. Wait for the pop-up to come which says that windows has detected a new hardware (your external hard drive). If this does not come up, then just go to my computer and double click the external hard drive icon. Now, you can open up the folder on the external hard drive and whatever you need to be on there, you can just put it in by simply dragging and dropping. Just select the file and hold it and just move it into the external hard drive folder. Simple as that!
